Today, we have released packages for Joomla! 2.5 for all of our Joomla! 1.7 templates.

Additionally, all Joomla! 1.7 quickstarts have been upgraded to Joomla! 1.7.4.

News Show Pro new version brings a mainly expected for users functionality which is image cropping in articles. The second change implemented is “Portal Mode”; from now on, the module look will not be restricted to a schemata given – you may see the examples in Financial Business or in The World News II home pages where this functionality has been used many times. Additionally, this new version also has some other improvements, such as support for JComments plugin in K2.

Social network services create some kind of container for websites, they are building connection networks through which we can access new recipients. It is a potential which cannot be wasted therefore Gavern Framework offers solutions which will allow to use possibilities offered by Facebook, Twitter or Delicious.

One of the greatest challenges while creating Gavern Framework was to prepare improved support for mobile devices. There are some positive changes on a few fields.

Gavern Framework supports three menu types, namely: GK Extra Menu, GK Dropline Menu and GK Split Menu.They are menus known by our users but created in the new form.

One of the major conveniences of Gavern Framework is a simplified way to create code fragments that work as typical plugins requested during onAfterRender event. In this article we will show you how to write a simple plugin.

One of the major advantages of such a solution is the fact that we have a possibility of creating simple parameters for our template overwritten modules and components. To exemplify this, we will create a code which hides article titles in selected articles (the categories can be chosen from template options level).

"Features" tab in Gavern Framework is well - developed in comparison with previous templates. From now on, it includes options divided into four thematic groups.

Last time, a lot of attention was paid to typography elements refresh used in our templates. We implemented some changes which should simplify its usage and we also added options connected with typography directly.

One of the greatest revolutions implemented by CSS3, is a possibility of using any fonts we wish to use on our pages. We resigned from Cufon script completely because it is more comfortable and secure to use solutions based on CSS3 (and some solutions included in Internet Explorer).

In "Advanced Settings" tab, we will find options not only connected with template settings but also with Gavern Framework – a comfortable tool to create templates for Joomla! 1.6.

In the second part we will focus on modifications of template's code itself which allow to gain modifications impossible to achieve by changes made in administrative panel.

Page layout modifications is one of the basic operations made while working with templates. It is very wide subject, therefore it will be presented in two parts. In the first part, we will present Gavern Framework configuration options, then, in the second part, we will focus on programmatic part which allows to do everything which is impossible in administrative panel.

While creating Gavern Framework, we have used our experiences from creating templates based on T3 Framework and from common problems which faced our customers. Gavern Framework is the combination of our templates best solutions, the same as, our ideas which solve a lot of problems occurred. It is also worth mentioning, that we have paid attention to functionalities, which seemed to be omitted for a long time, needed while creating up to the modern websites.

According to last templates update which are based on T3 framework, except some changes connected with adding fonts, extending the list of Google Fonts, we have prepared a new functionality, namely support for Font Squirrel. I would like to describe it in short how it works and which allows enrich typography of our site very easily.
