Firefox 4.0 Final - Available for download

The way that Firefox 4 has followed has been somewhat circuitous. There were many test versions that were released to the community and this has left its potential users nervous. But the wait is over and, again, ahead of schedule.

The date announced by Mozilla for the release of the final was tomorrow, March 22, but since the weekend are available for download to your FTP versions for various operating systems.

This new version brings the bridging of many months of development, which were slowly added features you will find now. There are few new features to the interface level, which had already been available in previous versions and, especially, was focused on a very important point and that is recognized by Firefox, the stability. The separation of processes within the browser itself allows for problems in a tab, this will be removed without affecting the overall performance of the browser.

This version brought back support for most add-ons developed for this browser. The beta versions had this feature disabled for security and development of the different versions.

In the same line than the other browsers have also invested in using Mozilla's hardware acceleration for your browser to a richer behaviour and make full use of the hardware where it runs the content that the Internet offers. Web applications, games and multimedia content are now being presented with more fluidity.

Despite being already available in Mozilla's FTP servers, this version should only see the light of day for official tomorrow. After that will be your own browser to warn of the need to update.

If you do not wish to wait for Mozilla and now want to have a final version of the browsers most anticipated in recent memory, only have to download the version that suits you and begin to use it.

After this cross-over, it's time for Mozilla then begin developing the new versions. Remember that it is supposed to reach the end of 2011 with version 7 on the street. But this will have to apply much effort and make development cycles shorter and objectives.
