JoomFish 2.2 in this week, and for Joomla 2.5 very soon

18/01/2012 - 09:11 Written by Pawel Frankowski

If anyone believed that the new language features introduced in Joomla! 1.6 will finish Joom!Fish component was very, very wrong. Prove it can be an example Falang (faboba.com) which is a fork of Joomfish 2.1.7 which has been re-written to be compatible with Joomla! 1.7.

Falang doesn't use the default language system of Joomla 1.7, this component allows you to manage all your content translations, even the content of all your components/modules, on your web site. But wait .... JoomFish! it's alive.

joomfish-logoThe team from the popular extension for creating multilingual websites with Alex Kempkens ahead, just made a long-awaited announcement: over this week, Joom!Fish 2.2 will be released, apart from many other developments, an entirely new version developed to run under Joomla! 2.5 from the beginning. New version of popular componet is dedicated to a more intuitive user interface and better integrated documentation of the translation process or how to manage multilingual websites. But also have support for Google Translation API (paid services).

What's more, the team of Joom! Fish announces that he has in production a number of tools to migrate existing content from sites under the new Joomla 1.5 websites in Joomla! 2.5 and Joom!Fish. More info about 2.2 version you will find here (www.joomfish.net). Second thay will release a Beta build of JoomFish 2.5 for their club members. This beta build is tested against Joomla CMS 2.5 Beta 2 and should work in general.
