Megaupload shut down by FBI

The MegaUpload website, considered one of the greatest and popular for file sharing, was closed by the FBI! This is the news that marks the headlines of international media related to technology. From what we know, the company was formally charged with piracy after a few hours of having made ​​public its intention to bring a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG).

 

According to information provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, the MegaUpload criminally generated more than $ 175 million (€ 135 million), "causing more than $ 500 billion in losses for holders of copyright."

So far it is known that the FBI arrested the site's founder, Kim Schmitz, who was already convicted in the past by other illegal activities.
