Pwn2Own is the largest hacking contest that takes place every year, targeting browsers on the market. Each year the latest versions of browsers are attacked, with the intention of being shown their vulnerabilities.

Shortly after it was revealed that Google uses a means to circumvent privacy protections in the Safari Web browser, Microsoft revealed that the Mountain View, California company has a similar practice in place with Internet Explorer (IE). In addition to being a more stable product, the recent release of version 17 of the Google Chrome Web browser touts two interesting functions: background page rendering (while you're entering the site address!) and verification of a Web site's reputation (useful for sites from which you download files).
