I sometimes wonder why, when preparing for the launch of Joomla 2.5, the Joomla team decided to remove the option to reset the number of article hits. In J1.5 this was a useful feature, especially in instances where an article had been modified (updated).

We received from the manufacturer's latest version of JomSocial 2.4 beta 1, fortunately the component installation proceeded without problems. The new version has mainly fixes and a few changes, but they can not be called evolutionary, but it will certainly prove to be useful.

As promised to our valued members, we are pleased to announce the launch of JomSocial 2.2.4 dedicated theme for The World News II template, on both J!1.5 and J!1.7 version. We have made it by keeping the same design theme style of the template, with clean, elegant and light layout. Announced later this year JomSocial next version 2.4 has introduced several new solutions. From 2 months, developers are working intensively on the changes in the photo galleries. Photographs will now be more exposed and more easily available, as well as changes to a mechanism for adding them (something like known from JCE 2.0.x - based on HTML5).

As each component, also JomSocial contains a large amount of unnecessary KB, mainly in the JS files and images. Today, I will show how to save some of those KB, and thus speed up the social networking site built on this extension.

A month ago was made a simple plugins for Joomla! 1.5 that make it easier to add a link to a user profile with JomSocial to a typical article. I think for many people it will be extremely useful, especially if the lead social network and write articles. Of course it based on the license GNU/GPL.
