Table is full

Hi. When saving an article I'm having this error message: The table 'table_name' is full. How do I solve this problem?

Never seen this error, is that the full error message as it is displayed on screen ?

Ok, there are few actions that could trigger that error which I outline below.

1. Article size is too big.
2. Article content has messy html.
3. Non utf8 characters in content.

If you are using latest version of joomla then this was patched already if not update your joomla to latest version.

If you are using latest version then either increase Memory Table Limit to max which is 32921 or lower value or increate "max_heap_table_size in MySQL" if you have access to mysql settings.

Memory Table Limit = Joomla Admin > Components > Smart Search > On Top Right "options" then "Index" tab.

Please note Memory Table Limit value is a memory limit before system switches to disk indexing from memory indexing which is slower then memory indexing. It is more like a page file and normal memory chip usage.

Another alternative is to split your articles or check for html errors.
