Putting an icon in the Login popup

Hi.
I wanted to ask if it is possible without too many difficulties to put an image/icon
in the login module to the right somewhere after where is says LOGIN in capital letters.

By the way, what is the file "module_icons.png" in the various /images/style folders for ?
How is it used.

First question,
sure you can, try to use the background-image property to set background image for this "login" element.

I suggest to use white small icon 16x16 px with transparency background.
