Hello, I'm working on my site with Template TWN 2 (last update) and I have a couple of problems, I state that I have already tried the solutions to my problems, but without success :cry:
First I changed the position of the moving logo on the left - all ok
Now comes the fun .... :P
There I explain my first steps
a) I installed the Jfusion login module and properly configured and running with my vbulletin forum related.
b) I installed the DROP LOGIN plugin of TY2U.com that I would use in place of a default module login/register.
Now my troubles come :blush: :blush:

1. I would take the login / register module and put in its place a 1or 2 new position (to use ads for ex).

2. DROP LOGIN configuration required "Publish your login module to the position you selected for Login. By default this is the login position." And I did. But my login module is a Jfusion login module and naturally in the DROP LOGIN not see anything.
Conversely if you use the default login module is displayed in the login drop everything?
I believe that the node is in a complete removal  the default login module, however it must be published in any other position of your template.

Thanks in advance and I apologize for my English.

Sorry to post again but the guide should be changed for the previous twn2 also because there is no nav.php file inside the folder gk_twn2/layouts/blocks/ instead I found the logo.php file similar but different content:

<?php if((GK_REGISTER || GK_LOGIN) && !GK_COM_USERS) : ?>
<div id="gkButtons">
<div>
<?php if(GK_LOGIN) : ?>
<a href="<?php echo $this->URLbase(); ?>index.php?option=com_users&amp;view=login" id="btnLogin"><span><?php echo $btn_login_text; ?></span></a>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if(GK_REGISTER) : ?>
<a href="<?php echo $this->URLbase(); ?>index.php?option=com_users&amp;view=registration" id="btnRegister"><span><?php echo JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_REGISTER'); ?></span></a>
<?php endif; ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>

Sorry, I think there is only one solution to my requests (see this post https://www.gavick.com/forums/the-world ... 17262.html)
I ask a moderator if you can create a guide (step by step) to fit this thread https://www.gavick.com/forums/130/need- ... 16703.html for The World News 2 template.
I apologize in advance for opening a new thread and if the moderator thinks is right may merge threads.
thanks a lot

I will post a solution for you when I go home in few hours.

Just to make sure I understood you correctly you want to remove Login buttons and replace it with a module.

See you until then.

Hi Norman, and thanks for the reply.
What I want is to remove / replace the USERAREA with a new position to be assigned to my liking (I also looked at the wiki on Add a new position). I say this because by testing with other templates I have had the result I was just looking for with Myfolio template and going to look at the differences in module positions I saw that this was not the userarea, then take it off if I solve my problems.
I tried to adapt the similar threads on Financial Business template but I just combined mess.... :cry:
Thanks again

1. ADDING A NEW MODULE POSITION
I read this guide https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... -position/ and i edit the templateDetails.xml file
and i create a new module position with the same name and same place in the illustration

2. I added the new module position to the template module styles by editing the gk.const.php file located in /lib/framework.
I opened the .php file and added my new module to the array (same the illustration)

Step 1. Adding new position to templateDetails.xml so it can be selected in module options.

Find File: templates/gk_twn2/templateDetails.xml

Add your position anywhere similar to other positions. For this example I will use position name "newposition"
Code: Select all
      <position>middlenav1</position>
      <position>middlenav2</position>
      <position>newposition</position>

Step 2. Add module style to gk framework.

Find File: templates/gk_twn2/lib/framework/gk.const.php
Add your style as none .
Code: Select all
   'middlenav1' => 'none',
   'middlenav2' => 'none',
   'newposition' => 'none',

Step 3. Adding php code for our new position.

Find File: templates/gk_twn2/layouts/blocks/logo.php
Find Lines: 46 to 57 which is below
Code: Select all
   <?php if((GK_REGISTER || GK_LOGIN) && !GK_COM_USERS) : ?>
   <div id="gkButtons">
      <div>
            <?php if(GK_LOGIN) : ?>
         <a href="<?php echo $this->URLbase(); ?>index.php?option=com_users&amp;view=login" id="btnLogin"><span><?php echo $btn_login_text; ?></span></a>
         <?php endif; ?>
         <?php if(GK_REGISTER) : ?>
         <a href="<?php echo $this->URLbase(); ?>index.php?option=com_users&amp;view=registration" id="btnRegister"><span><?php echo JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_REGISTER'); ?></span></a>
         <?php endif; ?>
      </div>
   </div>
   <?php endif; ?>

Replace it with below. Please note I have used "gkTopPosition" as Div ID which we need to add our css.
Code: Select all
   <?php if($this->modules('newposition')) : ?>
   <div id="gkTopPosition">
      <jdoc:include type="modules" name="newposition" style="<?php echo $this->module_styles['newposition']; ?>" />
   </div>
   <?php endif; ?>

Step 4. Add our css to style our module position. You can add this in override.css which is located in templates/gktemplatename/css/override.css and enable it template settings > advanced settings > css override.
Code: Select all
/* Move logo to left side */
#gkLogo {float:left;}
/* Move new position to right side, push it down 30px to level it with logo */
#gkTopPosition {float:right;width:468px; height:60px;margin-top:30px;}

You can change the width height to your usage.

Step 5. For test purposes create a new custom_html module and publish it to position "newposition".

See you around...
