hi, i would like to know is there a bug in the joomla 3.1 template as i am having problems.

A canonical tag has been put in but this report http://www.juxseo.com/report/view/51fc51f966fa2 is showing it there sometimes and then it shows it gone, the same when you look at the source code. One minute it is there and the next it has gone

can you let me know if this is a bug and if so how to solve it

cheers

just also wanted to add that i am seeing strange things on my site, example this page. http://www.in2town.co.uk/gastric-band-hypnotherapy

one minute i am seeing at the top as the title, gastric band hypnotherapy, then another time i will see gastric band hypnotherapy magazine

i think it is related and seems to be some sort of bug

Hi

Do You mean this H1 on the very top of the site ? The only bug I see is that You already have a H1 tag on the site except this top one, so SEO checkers may be confused with that.

Hi

Sorry my bad (I think). I've been looking for the page where I've seen 2 H1 tags, but cannot find it right now. So it was fixed or I looked it wrong in my first check.

Anyway, back to the question. What are You using to build Your canonical tag ? We or joomla are not providing such functionality by default and on Your site I can see it's working wrong obviously, becuase this function is to tell SEO robots which page is a primary for viewed one. Example:

for page http://www.testsite.com/article-xxx?print=1 the canonical will be: http://www.testsite.com/article-xxx

On Your site I can see canonical tags only when I look into category view where there is no side options for such page and this tag is not required, but an article view doesn't have canonical tags at all and this is the place what it's most needed. Anyway robots are smart enough to recognize joomla side article links, so canonical tags are not really a "must have" option when You are not using any none standard extensions.

hi, i am using sh404sef for the tags but on the home page i had to install one as it does not give you an option for the home page.

Hi

Ok. So this tags are being added manually per url ? Right ? Sorry I'm not sure how it works, never been using sh404sef for this. I think the best option would be to ask sh404 support for that.

From my side I would advice to use a component I'm using: http://www.cmsplugin.com/products/compo ... onical-url

Hi

Ok. But what I think is that you do not need this tags on your site. Your links construction is clear. Anyway you need to be prepared :) sites is growing fast this days :D
