Need to remove the Meta Generator tag which joomla defaulte to:
generator Joomla! 1.5 - Open Source Content Management

The info I've found on removing this has stated to look in my template's index.php file. I've looked and did not see this:
Code: Select all
$this->setGenerator(null);
?>

Thanks

Hi

If it's in the template code than You should search the layouts/ directory. To be honest I do not recall such line existed ;/

I'm going to need a little more guidance on this as I cannot find what or where the head tag "generator" is inserted.

The goal is to remove tags content; "Joomla! 1.5 - Open Source Content Management"

This is viewable when any page's meta tag information is viewed, it follows the keyword and description tags. the presence of the generator tag as it is, serves as an open invitation for hackers looking for joomla sites to attack.

Hi

The load of it is in the layouts/blocks/head.php . But for the greater knowledge You should ask on the joomla forum.

Hi, could anyone tell me where the meta tags are placed to modify? And please don't answer me into the gk_head.php, because in there there is nothing to do with generator tag for example! As i can see , your answers to similar questions in this forum, are not clear to such a common matter in any open source template!
I am looking forward your answers!

the metatags are located in the global configuration like any other joomla installations..

and open source template? as far as i know open source is free - this is not :)

Ha! And what about to add customized meta tags or modify generator meta tag to your "non open source" templates that already have paid?
