Facebook connect and login/register translation

Hi,
I have to little problems with my TNW II site, but I need to have them solved asap in order to unveil the site.

First, the facebook connect buton on the login pop up doesn´t work. It just stays there, no matter how hard you click on it!

I have imputed the API ID and its secret phrase (taken from my facebook account) on the module Authentication - Facebook. I also tried both Auto enable and disable feature below the secret api phrase.

On the template´s social api config, I have inserted the api id again (same as in the module), no secret api because there is no field for it, and ON as setting.

I also tried disabling each feature alternatively (social api and module).

I never worked...

Any ideas on what other plugin I might need to check in order to have this facebook login feature on?

Second, I got joomla´s Spanish translation and it works perfect on almost everything except for the login/register module. I searched for all terms contained in it using Dreamweaver´s search funtion (source code, text, etc.) and nothing comes up...

Do you know where the login/register texts are kept?

I installed Boutique theme and I have got the same problem. Plugin dosn't work. I'm clicking on the button in login box and nothing happening. I checked the update link, posted by Don Lee.
On the bottom of text is written:

Plg_gkcache, plg.system.gkExtCache and plg.authenticate.facebook plugins are available in rest_files package on the template download page.

I downloaded the rest_files package of Boutique, and the plugin in the package was created on 03 October 2011, and it also doesnt work. The plugin update was on 13 December 2011, so the plugin in the package is older than the udate. I checked rest_files packages from other templates, and version of plugin are the same. Where i can download updated and working version of the plugin?

The file with the updated version of Facebook connect is not within the Rest_files zip... (version 1.7) and if you go to the template page (https://www.gavick.com/download/templat ... ws-ii.html) it clearly states that the latest update was from (Wednesday, 23 November 2011)

So the question is, where and how can we get the updated plugin for the facebook connect.

Plugin is same for all themes. "theRealdesign" theme was added on Wednesday, 21 December 2011, so after the plugin update. But there is also old version.

So question to support, when and were we can download updated plugin?

It doesn´t work. Don´t know what else to do...

I´ve just downloaded and installed the auth plug in from the music template (dated as of today, the plugin), but it doesn´t work.

Any ideas?

How do I update/upgrade the template?

I did download all updates and uploaded them using the extension manager. That changed the background image of the template (which I changed for a logo image) so I think the updating process did go through if that was the way to do it...

But I´m new to joomla so I ignore almost everything!

Please let me know how to perform this upgrade.

You can download the template package and just upload "html" folder to override the current.

Have followed instructions as listed below in previous posts and still no luck.

Has anyone got this one to work yet?

- Download latest version of your template, upload \html\com_content\ and \html\mod_login\ to override the current one's.

I downloaded the rest files.
Uninstalled the old Facebook plugin and installed the new one.
Entered the APP ID and APP Secret..
Enabled the plugin.

I downloaded the quickstart package.
Uploaded the com_content and mod_login, overwriting the old ones.

Still no use, can't get it work...
It doesn't work on the demo as well.
Please help ASAP..

All I get now on the LOGIN - is the facebook logo is missing and there is no option to select to login for facebook.

Yes got that now - not sure where the logo has to be in the folder structure.

Can you adjust the permissions for FB users when they login - I see that that as a FB user you can't see registered articles?

It is evident that there is a problem with this mod/plugin, otherwise we wouldn´t be so many complaining for the same thing. At least, it is not a simple, plug and play component.

For that reason, I kindly ask Gavick to review this plug in and find a way to communicate its set up instruccions, and also provide us with a demo site where we can try it.

I too got there, but then the pop up closes (after allowing to give my details-I´m usin a FB account that is different from the one used for the application) and nothing happens. I tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Safari) all with the latest versions, but no luck...

Were you able to log in? I don´t see you fb user details on the user management section...

Please let me know if you are able to go through the entire process.

Also, do you know where can I locate the files to be translated (log in info).

Can someone from Gavick please explain why the FB login functionallity (also) doesn't work in the demo's?

For example:

Same issue still. The facebook login popup asks for FB login credentials and successfully logs you into FB (after it simple says "login" but if you click a facebook API window very quickly opens/closes and you are NOT logged into the Joomla website and no user is created.

@ontwerpjezelf we have disabled fb login in our demo on purpose. Demo is just to present template.

@ncase please also check things I've discovered that have a relation with fb login:

- update template to the latest version
- disable re-captcha plugin and disable it in global settings if You are not planing to use it or configure propperly if You do
- try generate new API and secret (somethimes just this action is helping)
- disable any other fb login You may be using. two used on a website produce conflict
