Inactivity logout sends user to 404 page

After a period of inactivity, my site logs out a user. Fine.
But, then, when the user clicks anything, it sends them to the 404 page,
instead of sending them to the login page.
In the controls for the Login Form module, changing the redirect page settings has no effect.
Is that a function of a configuration somewhere in the template?
I can't find it.
