insert color in columns

hi there, im trying to make some colored tables with statistics inside to articles. The problem is, not appear my colors inside the table. i try it also with some modules to put custom html inside the articles, but is does nothing... the only to change is the text with color, my columns still no color. can anyone help me with that please? im using PenguinMail tamplate 1.7(updated)
