Change breadcrumbs' pathway separator?

It's a tiny detail but I'm unable to find a solution:

How does one change the pathway/text separator (default "/") within the breadcrumbs module?

The Module Manager for the Breadcrumbs module includes a field, "Text Separator" within the Basic Options panel but changing that parameter has no effect.

Any ideas?

Suggest the next version of the Coffe template incorporates that change either into CSS or the module manager's Basic Options "Text Separator" field (so that it doesn't require tracking/changing whenever there's a template update).
