Need quickstart files for joomla 1.7

Hi,

I have to redo my site due to some issues, and would need to download again the Musicity files for Joomla 1.7, which I could not find in the download section. Just showing 1.5 and 2.5
Is possible to have the files back to download them??
Would need theme ASAP

Unfortunately joomla 1.7 is not being developed anymore so we have removed it also. Anyway joomla 2.5 is a continuation of 1.7 so files should be working or you should be able to update joomla itself.

Joomla 1.7 may not be developed anymore, but it is still being used.
Nevertheless we pay for it, and we need those files. Can´t redo the website in 2.5 because not all the 3rd party extension I need are ready for 2.5.
Joomla 2.5 has 2 or 3 month alive and has 4 updates already, meaning: is still full of bugs…
Plus a “should be working” answer is unacceptable. Can´t built a site and see if it works, just because you don´t want to provide what we pay for…

I'm using 1.7 extentions on joomla 2.5 and everything works fine. Maby with 1 or 2 exceptions.
The fact is that J2.5 is a propper version of J1.6 and J1.7 which comes in the middle. 3 of 4 J2.5 updates were strictly a secure pathes for developed meanwhile issues. So basicly J1.7 is more bugged and unsecured than J2.5. Please take a look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCrbPZpek3s it will explain that J2.5 is not a different system like it was between J1.5 and J1.6.

But if You still insist I'll ask programmers if this files were left anywhere.

The guy in the video should be a Politian not a developer, he is misinforming more than informing with just a bunch of numbers and crap that don´t explain anything at all.
For me there is more behind and I believe that should be about money as always…
Also if this is the point why 1.5 is still alive?

You can´t launch a product and just kill it after a year. People don´t build their sites every year and extension can´t even keep up to date with this changes. If you don´t have an unbugged version, stable and secure, JUST DON’T LAUNCH IT.
And if you launch it at list let people decide.
Worst is your case, that just follow them up.

Personally I think you should have an archive with old files, just like done with GK extensions.
Why don´t you do that?? Too much pressure from Joomla to make older versions disappear…?

As for your offer I would take it. I already moved to 2.5 but still have a long way to go and not sure if everything I need would work, so would be a good plan B having those files.

PS: if you work on this, you know that those kind of files are never deleted just stored somewhere…

You're probably right that Ron Severdia is a better programmer than talker. I've understood what He meant the second time I've watched it.

Unfortunately I was not working on that template so I do not have an access to files and programmers answered that J1.7 is a closed project because of serious security issues and thay cannot give it to me and they want it to be forgotten

Yes J1.5 being closed soon.

I've found some J1.7 version of the template on my test server. I'm not sure if it's the latest one. But that's the closest I could get.
