1,5 year old bug still not fixed ?

First of all, thanks for the great templates your offering.

I installed appPhone template and noticed a very annoying known bug, that has not been corrected since 1.5 years ago now ( i thought this one has been corrected long time ago ) I have checked your forum, since im not the only one noticed this bug, see old discussion links below, but still no update to this issue whatsoever, why ? Looking at the demo on your website, everything works great, so i guess that the demo running on your website is a Jooma 2.5 or 3.0 ? I need the 1.5 version, since i have many custom extensions for j1.5 and im very happy with j.15 and im not planning to migrate in near future.

The Bug
The bug is directly visible when visiting the website from a iPad or iPhone or using firefox agent faker extension, the header image get cutted ( it does not show the whole image ), actually the whole website gets cutted. Specially when you make the browser window smaller or zoom in and out. This bug is also present with any modern web-browser on a computer ( desktop version), for example runnning on my macbook pro with latest Firefox or Chrome. The thing is that the bug is not visible until you rezize the window to a smaller window untill the horizontal scroller appears. Scrolling the horizontal scroller to the right will show the bug.

My settings in the template setting is set to default, both for handheld and iphone, as i dont want to use any mobile specific settings.

I have tried both quickstart version and the template only version with a fresh copy of latest joomla.1.5.
Still same problem. I read in another thread (more than 1 year ago, Tue Sep 13, 2011 ) where the gavick support/moderator says :

Posted Tue Sep 13, 2011 by Gavick Support/Moderator, This effects our template framework and it's not only an issue of css.
Please wait for further updates.
I already informed our SEO Programmer.

Will this bug ever be fixed?

In fact there was a problem with background stretch on iPad devices and this issue was fixed - please look at the demo site on default device browser or some external one like Chrome. This is not responsive template so it is normal that dynamically resizing windows will not change the layout. Could you check the same on our demo template ? Please use this URL http://demo.gavick.com/joomla25/appphone/

Hi, i dont know i you read whole thread, i already know it has been fixed in your demo, but your demo is running the Joomla 2.5 version of the template.

I am talking about the J 1.5 version of the template, this bug has not been fixed. Have you tried the J.5 locally on your machine and actually tried to resize the windows, then you will probably understand the problem everybody are trying to tell you here on the forum.

Please let me get more clear about this.

The appPhone demo on your site ( Joomla 2.5 demo ) = WORKING, NO BUG
Downloading and installing the Joomla 2.5 version of appPhone template = WORKING, NO BUGS

Downloading and installing the Joomla 1.5 version of appPhone template = NOT WORKING, 1.5 YEAR OLD BUG STILL PRESENT AND STILL NO FIX.

Please listen to you users and get back with some proper answers.

Please provide me FTP details and link to this forum thread via PM I'll make the correction directly in your installation because version for J!1.5 is now unsupported.

Hi

Thank you, i am running locally on my computer, but sure, i can upload it to a server so you can have a look at it. I will PM the FTP details. But fixing my template will not help all the other users that have the same problem. Saying that joomla 1.5 is unsupported is just a lame excuse, this bug has been around for a long time, and people have asked you about a fix under the time when Joomla 1.5 was supported, just check the forum posts dates.

Why dont you make the fix locally on your computer and then post all the steps how to fix it here on the forum so everyone can take part of it. Sorry but im kind of disappointed, this is not the way to go, your not sending out good signals to your users.

Still if you fix my template i need to know what you have done to get it fixed, as i will need the template for my local development again.

Another thing, i have emailed you here at Gavick before renewing my membership and asked if you provide any j1.5 templates, and the answer was yes. So basically you mean that people sign up for a membership, buying templates that does not work, and then you say that you dont support your own products your offering. Is this OK you think ? If you dont support the product you sell, please remove them, if not you are fooling people, and that will only hurt your reputation.

I dont want to be a pain in the a** but im surprised how you handle service.
