How to get sef working

Hi this question has been asked a few times but no one has answered it. Is there sef already with this template and if so how do we get it working. If not how do we put sef404 onto the template and activate it.

SEF is a component for joomla and it is not template related. In general all SEF components should work. So you have to simply install the component from joomla admin panel.

I know Gavick do use few plugins e.g cache plugin etc but it shouldnt cause any problems with SEF at all.

The above is what i receive and this has happened again after i asked my hosting company to delete it and reinstall it.

when i go into the control panel to put in my home page name i see the following and it will not let me alter anything.
