Storage capacity

Hello,
Does anybody know what is the storage capacity for pictures? Does it depend on MySQL database? I would not like to find myself with a message saying that I cannot place any more picture...

I guess the best way not to use much storage is to place all the pictures in the server and take them from there instead of uploading them from my computer every time I want to use a picture. Basically, the same picture of 200 kb appearing in 5 articles will only use 200 kb, on the other hand if I upload the same picture 5 times (1 per article) from my computer they will use 1000 kb even if it's the same picture, is that right?

If you use one image several times it demands only one copy in your server, so the best way is to copy images to your server and always load it to article directly from the place where site is published not from hdd.
