Could you give me your site URL ? It is always easier to check CSS/HTML code on live site. Probably to help you with this issue you need to use our dedicated GK Menu Parameters plugin which you can find in download area.

Ok. It's really hard to help exacly. I would have done it differently. I would attache background to <li></li> element not under the full menu like You did, than separator to <a></a> element inside. This way You will be able to manipulate borders below each <li></li>. I would help and make it for You, but it was modificated so I have nothing I can try any code on. Try my tip and if it will not help send me ftp access.
