Please check com_user language files in root/languages directory. This part should be by default en-GB.com_user.ini file.

The easiest way is to use some text editor which can find phrase in different files. How to translate this part was mentioned several times on our forum, please just use 'Search' option. On default register page you have translated this elements ? Please also look at mod_gk_register translation file.

hmm, here you got me.
i have this file exactly in dutch. and all these strings are in dutch.
so i need to translate them in the originel ENGLISH file instead of the nl-NL file? is that what you are saying. strange, since with every new update they will be lost...

Hmm maybe I don't understand your case, if you have translation of mod_gk_register.ini and com_user.ini file in dutch language directory everything should be fine. Please check the file names and content, maybe there is some typo which cause that the original translation is not override because Joomla! can't load file properly.
