Hi.

I have made a menu item for creating article from front end.
When clicking this item, I got 403 error - page does not exist.

I have tried as a registred users, as edtior, author and publisher, and as a administrator.
I have tried with standard joomla Create an article - menu choise, and Create an K2 artice.
I have tried with my native language, and with standard english language.
Stil getting the 403 error.

Does anyone have a good solution for this?

Best regards,
GE

403 Forbidden is generally a problems with mod_security which is one of the modules loaded into Apache. It could be that your server side setting are set to be to aggressive which could cause problems with other areas of your site. You can ask your host to see which file is causing error if this case is true and add an exception in rules.

Other then that try checking WYSIWYG Editor settings if you are using third party WYSIWYG Editors. Such as editor users / profiles / permissions.

If you are also using security / firewall components in your joomla then try disabling them.

See you around...

Hi.

I have reason to belive this is a local problem. This because I have created a subdomain with the QuickStart installed. Here I get the article editor to work. When I activated this menu, I also discovered some other issue on my main site;
When activating the mod_gk_register module, I got the nice error:
Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception'.... black text on white screen. Secondly, I noticed the posiblity to create an article with a menu chois in the popop when you click the Your Account item. This is not visible in my site, only in the QuickStart site.
I have altered the template several places due to the extremely big spaces between headers and contents, and som isuuses regarding fontisizes, so I may have corrupted some other stuf.
Because of that, I will start over and reinstall the template from scratch on my main site, and see if I get the same problem again.

Anyway, as mentioned on other modules earlier, the layout for the article editor from front end ar looking very bad. The layout and alingments on my QuickStart sub domain can not been shown in public, so to speak...
Do you have a good solution to modify the layout so it looks better?

I have wrote you a PM with access to my QuickStart sub-domain, so you can see what I mean.

Best Regards,
GE

Hi.

Yes, now I can creat a article from front end via the 'user menu'.

But as I mentioned in PM, there are still very important issue to solve regarding articles in this template.

As I wrote, I did a complete reinstall with a QuickStart install. This because creating of article from 'user menu' created a 403 error.

When reinstalled, I could create articles, but as I wrote in PM, the articles does not show up correctly in TabsGK4. I have set to only show Title end Date Created (with %DATE parameter), but stil it shows up Hits, Evaluate, Author and so on. (Yes - this also when I supress showing hits, evaluate, author both in article and category)
But I found out if I am using K2 articles, they shows up correctly in TabsGK4 - so I decided to just go for K2 articles and let it be. But now, when I tries to make a menu choise to Make a K2 item from front end, it creates a 403 error.
I hope You can take some time to sort this out because i can't go with both types at the same time...
So I feel little stuck at the moment..

Best regards,
GE

Hi.

Thanks to good advice from normanUK, I have found that checking K2 parameters - one more time - can be a good idea... Especially K2 user and group permissions..

Have a nice day :)
