Hi

Have started redesigning an old site using this template and come across a few issues

Template Positions - Clicking on this option takes you to a page designed for bike store and shows the module positions for that template, which isnt very helpful

News Show Pro - Trying to use this on the frontpage in the mainbody area (and tried others) it deosnt seem to display correctly, and the formatting is all over the place.

Files - Looking through the files to try and find a few things there seems to be a lot of images in a virtuemart directory. The kind of implies that the template is built on the basis of another, and obviously having files such as these images (and therefore who knows what else) is uneccesary. This also seems to apply to some of the joomla content as there is a menu with categories which do not apply to this template

Also a couple of queries

It says that it uses a modified version of K2. Will this have any impact on being able to upgrade K2 in the future

Also the News Show Pro is a modified version with specific styles. Again will this create a problem with upgrading NSP

Thanks

Steve

Hi,

Are you sure that you say about the Fest template? I've especially downloaded the quickstart package and none of the mentioned problem occurs - especially with the mentioned wrong module positions image and with the some VM images.

Maybe you have moved the installation to the old bikestore installation and the files was mixed up?

Definately FEST. The installation is a fresh installation and is actually on a new install of a wampserver so no other files existed. Even looking in the extracted quickstart folder locally if I go to images/stories there is a virtuemart folder containing loads of images.

Also if you look at the demo version of this template on the Gavick site clicking on the template layout options from the menu will take you to a responsive layout page in the wiki which is relevant to bikestore and not fest, so I'm surprised yours acts different

Ok I see that in the quickstart is unnecessary VM folder in the images/stories, but on the demo:

http://demo.gavick.com/joomla25/fest/in ... -positions

the module position image is correct - I see the Speakers and Sponsors module positions which are unique for the FEST template.

Glad you found the uneccesary files. I'm hoping thats all of them as its a shame to have the directory and contents bigger than needed. A little bit worring there might be some other stuff left over which is not needed.

Thanks for clarifying the module positions page. I was using the template / layouts menu option which directs you to the bikestore layout

Any thoughts re why NSP wont work properly on the frontpage. I'm trying to use it in the mainpage are for some latest news etc but it wont display properly in any of the layout options

I've moved the NSP module from the module variations page to the mainbody module position on homepage and it seems to work normally on my installation.
