Nobody ever seems to be online in the Live Support so I'll post it here.

I've been trying to install this template gk_creative_quickstart_J!30.zip and the installation hangs. I've tried other templates on the same server and they install fine. So the problem is with this file: gk_creative_quickstart_J!30.zip

There seems to be a problem with this package.

Eveyrthing goes fine, I've downloaded template from our download area 5 minutes ago. Please see results >> http://d.pr/i/8TEL and http://d.pr/i/NZFN

Did you try to re-download package from our server ?

I've tried re-downloading the package multiple times. I just tried again.

Same result each time. It hangs in that place in the progress bar indefinitely, then if I try to attempt it again, it kicks me back to the configuration page.

Beyond you telling me it should work, is there any action that can be taken? I'd really like to use this template in J3.0 - but aside from informing you that it doesn't work, and not just for myself... I don't know how to proceed other than just going a different direction.

C'mon now. 4 people having problems... that's the ones who are speaking up.

I'm a "Lifetime Member" - But what's the point of that with no support route? Feels pretty useless to be a lifetime member but not able to use the products.

Is there anyone that represents Gavick that can give us a heads up? We just want to use the products. ALLO? ALLO?

Please provide me your PHP and mySQL version. Did you try to install clean Joomla! from joomla.org ? I've tested this package twice and don't have any problems with installations and as I can see other users also.

I can get Joomla to install and the template to install (if I install them one at a time)

I would like to use the quickstart install for the demo content

My php version is 5.3.15 and my mysql is 5.1.66 mysqli - 5.1.63

I have gotten the simplicity template to load on a different domain using the quickstart install

If you can't install Joomla! from joomla.org this is surely not our package issue but your hosting. Please contact with your service provider because it is diffuclt for me to help you with hosting issue.

Did I say that wrong sorry

I can get everything to install and working just fine EXCEPT for this (creative) quickstart install

I can get Joomla to install
I can get your other quickstart installs to install.
I can even get the template to install

I can not get the quickstart to install with the demo content

Creative quickstart does not install it does an endless loop you get to the install page then it goes to the creating databases then it reverts back to the page with the install button again.

The problem is with the CREATIVE QUICKSTART PACKAGE.

FILE: gk_creative_quickstart_J!30.zip

It's been over a week with no solution, nor any clear indication whether anyone is even trying to fix this package.

I contacted Hostgator and they tell me the following limits cannot be changed:
safe mode = Off (cannot adjust)
    memory_limit = 256M (MAXIMUM)
    max_execution_time = 30 (MAXIMUM in seconds)
    max_input_time = 60 (MAXIMUM in seconds)
    post_max_size = 64M (MAXIMUM)
    upload_max_filesize = 64M (MAXIMUM)
    enable_dl = Off (cannot adjust)
These limits are very standard

Please advice on manual installation of this quickstart.

Problem fixed!

Indeed the problem had to do with the limits my hosting account (Hostgator) has in place. I up the limits via the php.ini EZConfig app in the Cpanel. The quickstart installed like a charm after that. Here are my settings:

max_execution_time = 60
max_input_time = 90
post_max_size = 96M
upload_max_filesize = 96M (MAXIMUM)

Thx!

I have the same issue using wamp in local Win7 install (Apache 2.2.21, PHP 5.3.8, MySQL 5.5.16)
I could also make other Joomla 3 installation with no problems.
I have changed PHP.ini as per previous posts but still doesn't work.

What else could it be? Looks like an epidemic issue.

Did you check this values ?

max_execution_time = 60
max_input_time = 90
post_max_size = 96M
upload_max_filesize = 96M (MAXIMUM)

and the most important display_errors and strict standards messages option ?

SCHNEIDER (Fresh Boarder)
Your php.ini have too much unnecessary strings or used only on localhost like "upload_tmp_dir = "c:/wamp/tmp"
The main question was about live server.

What do you mean? It cannot be installed locally :shock: ? I have posted the full PHP.ini file so you can check if the other PHP settings are correct because I think I followed correctly all your previous advises here.

In order to make a local install for testing, what do I have to do? I'm only having problems with this Creative package... Any ideas to solve this problem?

If you can not change server settings, hmm.
I have another idea using Akeeba backup and its quickinstaller. But first I have to test my own.

p.s.
I was talking about RacerBoy question ;)
On localhost you can do anything.

Same problem here. This is too much trouble for a paid template. We've had no problems installing other Gavickpro templates on same servers, so issue is in the template install package. This should be resolved quickly, effectively and clearly. It appears to be dragging on and is sure to have very negative effect on customer confidence and loyalty. Please address ASAP.

Ok, I think I get it.
If your installator still come back to step number 2,
write down which prefix you inserted, then
use you client FTP to make two things:

1) Rename or delete /installation - folder
2) Create a configuration.php file, and inside put all data
Code: Select all
<?php
class JConfig {
   public $offline = '0';
   public $offline_message = 'This site is down for maintenance.<br /> Please check back again soon.';
   public $display_offline_message = '1';
   public $offline_image = '';
   public $sitename = 'gk_creative__J30';
   public $editor = 'tinymce';
   public $captcha = '0';
   public $list_limit = '20';
   public $access = '1';
   public $debug = '0';
   public $debug_lang = '0';
   public $dbtype = 'mysqli';
   public $host = '-------localhost or ???-------';
   public $user = '-----MySQL user-------';
   public $password = '----MySQL password ---------';
   public $db = '---------MYSQL data base-------';
   public $dbprefix = '----your--prefix-----';
   public $live_site = '';
   public $secret = 'qLgqKaKKj7piuE1C';
   public $gzip = '0';
   public $error_reporting = 'default';
   public $helpurl = 'http://help.joomla.org/proxy/index.php?option=com_help&amp;keyref=Help{major}{minor}:{keyref}';
   public $ftp_host = '';
   public $ftp_port = '';
   public $ftp_user = '';
   public $ftp_pass = '';
   public $ftp_root = '';
   public $ftp_enable = '';
   public $offset = 'UTC';
   public $mailer = 'mail';
   public $mailfrom = '[email protected]';
   public $fromname = 'gk_creative_J30';
   public $sendmail = '/usr/sbin/sendmail';
   public $smtpauth = '0';
   public $smtpuser = '';
   public $smtppass = '';
   public $smtphost = 'localhost';
   public $smtpsecure = 'none';
   public $smtpport = '25';
   public $caching = '0';
   public $cache_handler = 'file';
   public $cachetime = '15';
   public $MetaDesc = '';
   public $MetaKeys = '';
   public $MetaTitle = '1';
   public $MetaAuthor = '1';
   public $MetaVersion = '0';
   public $robots = '';
   public $sef = '1';
   public $sef_rewrite = '0';
   public $sef_suffix = '0';
   public $unicodeslugs = '0';
   public $feed_limit = '10';
   public $log_path = '/logs';
   public $tmp_path = '/tmp';
   public $lifetime = '15';
   public $session_handler = 'database';
}

You have insert all MySQL data + your prefix !!

Last step

1) Navigate to phpMyAdmin and select the database for the Joomla! site in the left-hand drop-down list box. This will show the database tables on the left side of the screen.
2) Click on the table "jos_users" in the list of tables (note: you may have a prefix that is not jos_, simply go to the _users table for your prefix).
3) Change your password --> http://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recov ... assword%3F
4) Change value in "block" from 1 to 0
how-to-unblock-user.png

Save, now you have full access to backend

That solution worked for me. Only that there was no admin user created after the failed installation so I had to create one:

http://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recov ... rator_User

Everything was up and running afterwards.
