Problem with ACL and site login

I have set up a site with the Startup Quickstart package for client demo at www.thesteinfest.com

I have created a user with Administrator privileges to be used to log into the site and add/edit content from front end.

I have a menu item in the main menu set to list the K2 content of this user and it is a registered status menu item. The login module is set to redirect upon login, to this menu link. it does not do this however.

After login, it redirects back to the front page. But the menu item to the K2 content is visible and will display the K2 content for this user when clicked. However when you click on any of the titles of the articles the site redirects to a 'please login first' page, and if you login the second time, it doesn't show the registered users K2 content link anymore. So at this point, this user cannot get to his K2 content.

The system will allow the user to click on the content that is displayed on the front page, and it does allow them to edit the content from that point, so this has to be some sort of ACL setting in the menu system but I cannot find out what it is.

If anyone can help I really need to get this project going for this client ASAP.

Also, there are some issues with the template language files apparently as well. If you follow the second log in requirement as I described above the registered menu item for K2 content isn't visible even though you appear to be logged in. If you go to the link of that menu item anyway (copied from the previous visit), you get a 403 error, with some obvious errors in the language file read.

This is different than if you try access this link when logged out. I you are logged out and try to access the K2 user content link, which is set to only registered access, you will be prompted to login. And if you follow this login prompt, it will take you to your profile info.

It is as if there are 3 different login processors and none of them behave the same way, but I only have the login module published once, in the login position. No other login items published anywhere.

When logged in on the front end, the back end only shows one instance of this user being logged in.

If you log into the front end with the super user id, none of this happens. It all works as it is supposed to.

Ok, more info today. I added other users at administrator levels, and they work with no problem. I deleted the original user that was having problems and the created it anew, and when I logged in, it worked and after I added it to the site owners group in K2, it would allow for editing.

Great! problem solved....except....

Now the system throws errors out saying it can't find the old deleted user when the K2 articles are edited. Of course they don't have an owner now. So I went and reassigned ownership to the new user. Then re-assigned the menu link to show content for all users. Now when I try to click on an article in that list, it is prompting for a log in again just like it was.

So, apparently, there's something messing up the ACL when a user is assigned as the owner of the K2 content. Not sure why this is. Would love some help if you've had this problem.
