Hi,

I just installed the quickstart package for Startup and the backend shows that the menu item as the raw COM_Menu_ instead of actual text for quite a few links....whats going on?

Did you delete some extensions like K2 or it is clean quickstart ? Please try to run package again - maybe some file are corrupted and this is causing problem.

I am having the same problem... on a clean install of the Quick Start package of "startup".

Should there be a "administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_menus.ini" file included in the package?

Yes it should be included, you don't have this file ? Please try to re-download zip file - maybe the previous one is corrupted.

If the translation is missed for few links it probably comes from some 3rd party extension, maybe K2 ? Did you unintall K2 ?

I did not uninstall anything. That file is not included in the quick start package I downloaded.

Please look at clean Joomla! from joomla.org - you will not find this file there. This missing translations probably comes from one of 3rd party extensions but I'm not sure. Could you attach a screen with this not translated part ?

Hi,

I am also seeing this same issue. I have performed multiple Quick Launch installs of this template and each time am having issues with what I assume is an admin language file. Here is an example of what I am seeing when I add a new menu item:

http://prntscr.com/mmall

Now 3rd party extensions have been added or removed. I am getting these errors right out of the box with the J3.0 Quick Launch.

Also, when checking the error log I am seeing this error which seems to be related:

I am also seeing this error in the error log:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/karmamarketingandmedia.com/subdomains/j3/httpdocs/administrator/templates/isis/error.php on line 114, referer: http://j3.karmamarketingandmedia.com/ad ... /index.php

Can you please advise on how to correct this issue, it seems to be happening to many of your customers.

Thanks,
--Ben

I have the same experience other are describing after installing J3.0 with Startup via the Gavick QuickStart package. Installed it twice with same results prior to making any modifications to the installation. Despite this, site looks and works good and I've started adding content but if there's a quick fix to this issue. I've placed a screen shot below.

Could you check whether the same happen when you run clean Joomla! from joomla.org ? Are you sure that file permissions in root/languages directory are correct ?

Downloaded Joomla 3.0.2 from joomla.org and did a fresh install at http://veteranspavilion.com/j30test. The permissions check looked identical to the QuickStart template/cms installation. See http://s1.postimage.org/nrslchiqn/joomla_3_test_install_menu.png
