I had to completely uninstall and reinstall the latest startup_quickstart because the update of both k2 and gavickpro destroyed my database.

I need to know in the future how to fix this crash when using K2 and gavickpro. It seems like multiple people have been dealing with this issue same issues for awhile.

I would have waited for a fix, but need to go to a meeting right now to showcase the work I've done.

Is working with K2 and all gavickpro templates going to be an issue like this in the future. If so, how can we correct the problem if updating the software through joomla backend doesn't work?

First of all, I would strongly suggest to always do backup of all files and database before any update. If something fail, You will be able to restore quickly.
You said, that this was quick_start installation - how long ago have You installed it?
Are You sure, that while installing there was no errors (especially with K2, as our templates doesnt change anything in database when installing/updating)?

I believe that it might have to do with the love factory module I am also using for my social network. I have a backup of everything. I am just not sure what the problem is. K2 might want to override the registration process of the love factory module since I have it as the default registration process instead of joomla. Could the is be the issue? If so, how can we use both functionalities; K2 for article design, and Love Factory for registration process?

I think first thing You should do is to check if the problem lies in k2 vs Love Factory. You could for example make a copy of your site, run it on localhost and disable love factory, then update k2 and see if it works ok. If so - the conflict between those two plugins will be obvious. Sadly I dont know the second one, and Its quite possible that no one from our dev team will know (just because we dont support that plugin), so the question should be asked on k2 forum, because there You might find someone with same problems.
But firstly make sure that is the case.

Love Factory is asking the same thing, I did just post on k2 forum. I'll leave a link if there is a response.

So after awhile I found this article; http://getk2.org/community/New-to-K2-As ... on-problem. K2 forum is absolutely dead for any support, this article is old.

It talks about an issue with other registration components not working with the use of K2. I am very worried about this major flaw since I've purchased custom registration software that seems to be giving me error 1064. I am a lifetime member of gavickpro and need to find an answer to this issue not working with other registration components e.g. Love Factory, Alpharegistration, CB ect.

If the majority of your responsive templates are using K2 and the vast majority of designers are using custom registration components that don't interact with each other what is the solution for me?

Sadly, we do not provide k2 support. If exactly same problem exist on default Beeze template, its either K2 or LoveFactory support You should search for.
