Guys!

i have followed the instructions i have found here:

https://www.gavick.com/documentation/ge ... oomla-1-7/

but i can not translate my home page in both languages. Check here:

http://bellevuesuitesrhodes.com/joomla/index.php/el/

Am i missing anything? If so please help!

Or in order to have my site work properly with your template i should clone it? and assign different template to different language? If so then i would say that gavick templates are not really multilingual!! and this is a pitty!

I am not going to use falang as suggested in other posts! This is not acceptable by my side ...

I am thinking that you should modify your templates code to be compatible with default joomla multilingual setup!

At least offer the option to publish a module in mainmenu position!

Please help here...

Guys!

please help here ...

i have followed relevant documentation in your site and created 3 menus:

Main Menu (home set to all languages)
Main Menu - English (home set to English lang.)
Main Menu - Greek (home set to Greek lang.)

also configured languages/content categories (k2)/content items(k2)/module ...

also i have cloned gk_startup and assign different templates to each language! as aslo using different menus in each template!

But my home page switch (from greek to english) does still not work!

I have set english as the default language.

Homepage URL for Greek is: http://bellevuesuitesrhodes.com/joomla/index.php/el
Homepage URL for English is: http://bellevuesuitesrhodes.com/joomla/index.php/en/

but english URL is returing a 404 error!

please help here

Another issue i have got is that although i have cloned in backend my template as:

gk_startup_el for Greek
gk_startup_en for English

actually they use the same files ... although i have created a template for k2:

templates/gk_startup/html/com_k2/templates/generic_k2

which is not visible in k2 categories (in order to assign it) ... i can only see "default" template!

is this related to the fact that i am using a cloned template?

Yeap! that's the case!

i could not see my k2 template until i de-activated my cloned gk_startup_el template and just used one as default one!

then i managed to assign my K2 template to k2 categories ...

fortunately i re-activated template cloning and k2 template assignment works!

But i really need some help here! my default language homepage (english) is not working:

http://bellevuesuitesrhodes.com/joomla/index.php/en/

My secondary language homepage IS working:

http://bellevuesuitesrhodes.com/joomla/index.php/el/

any help ????

As usual no response from Gavick team!

http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=617&t=677353

check this link! it shows that falang system can not translate for instance k2 extra field VALUES ... So falang is not a solution for complex multilingual sites ...
