Performance miracles

I had experience a performance drop in the template.

Debbuging the site I found that the time - afterRender was around 10 seconds (almost 9 seconds more than the time after render the last module!). After applying all cache tips and tricks (GK cache, System Cache, htaccess expires...) and other recommendations the problem persisted.

I found the solution here : http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=284990. Just reinstall the template ?!?

This seems to be some kind of miracle. Now the time afterRender is +0.146 (total 2.5 seconds!). I need to update again some part of the template. I would like to know if this solution would be permanent of I could experience the same behaviour.

Although it has only happened once since we re-installed the template, we have observed the same behaviour regarding to the last step 'afterRender' taken from the debug information.

Please try to disable all modules visible on the website one by one, I suspect that this may be kind of extension problem rather than template issue. If you detect which one cause the additional load time please let me know. Do you use any 3rd party plugins?

We use the extensions shipped with the template + AllVideos (by JoomlaWorks) + Editor JCE + Content - Oziogallery 3.

The JCE MediaBox is configured to be loaded in specific pages (where the frontpage is not included).

The Oziogallery 3 is added as a custom html module that connect to Google+. This module is not a problem (see the following debug information) :

We found that the module Weather GK4 ver. 1.6.6 has a considerable difference:

We have disabled that module and the frontpage takes now 1.3 seconds to load. That's a good number considering the amount of modules used.

Please, note that the problem 'disappeared' since we reinstalled the template (before this step, the average load time was 9 seconds), as we found in this thread : http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=284990.

Please, note that none of the modules represents a problem. As stated before, the problem disappeared after reinstall the template. Maybe it is not related to the template (good news ) but with some Joomla! 'mystic' which I'm not aware. So, any guidance will be welcome.

To sum up this big post : The problem seems to be solved but please, don't close the thread without a feedback

To be honest I have no idea how template reinstallation may improve page loading when the executed code is exactly the same… (maybe it is a Joomla bug)

Differences between every single module render times are quite usual so probably with this amount of content you can't improve this loading time.
