two general Boutique questions

Two quick questions, thanks guys!

1) Do I need to use K2? For some reason im having issues with pictures inside K2 but the more I look at K2, the more I realize I don’t think I need it, at all. Can I uninstall the component and will the front page function correctly with all of the modules or are some of the frontpage modules specific to only K2?

2) I installed the quickstart but none of the pictures that were on demo.gavick.com are in the quickstart installation. Not that this matters, but just want to verify I installed it correctly or did I goof it up?

1) No, you don't have to use K2 if you don't want to. Frontpage layout can be adjusted to work with Joomla articles (modules can take data from different categories/articles).

2) Demo images are replaced due to copyrights.
