If you are using joomla 1.7 it already has this feature.

1. Activate the Language Filter Plugin
Joomla Admin > Extensions > Plugin Manager > "System - Language Filter"

Enable it and edit its settings and set as below:
Language Selection for new Visitors : Site Language
Menu Associations : Yes

2. Make sure both languages are installed.

3. Activate / Create Second Content Language.
Joomla Admin > Extensions > Language Manager > Content
Add New Greek Language.

4. When adding contents select content language.

5. Create Multi-Language Menu Items
If you click on any menu item you will see "Language" towards end of list.
So in Main Menu You should have similar list.
Home - English ( Language set to English )
Home - Greek ( Language set to Greek )

So it is only 1 single Main Menu with multi-language items, So depending on joomla language menu items will change language.

See you around...
