Hi,

What I can suggest you are to:

- Enable all cache and customization options.

- Upgrade your Joomla site, template, other extensions to latest versions.

- Check to upgrade your server and internet connection.

Joomla is the most current version. I am using your template and extensions... all current. I enabled cache... although when I enable css cache and css compression in the template settings under Advanced... the css on the site goes to basically text only. Why is that?

FTP access? For what? last time I did this my site was broke for a week and the tech support guy disappeared. Not trying to be rude but I cant have the site go down... and this forum is generally too slow to address urgent issues... client wont buy me saying, "its not my fault the tech support pro did it."

By the way, I had to turn off the cache because it was caching the shopping cart so people couldnt empty their cart or update the quantity...

CSS compression and or other CSS settings to speed up the site often messes it up... can you tell me from your experience a solution?

Good start point to site speed optimization is test your domain with pingdom >> http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

I started there... that is why I came back to here... because I made the changes I could based on that... some of the things like CSS compression and such which the template has settings for messes up the css formatting.

Did you use some external plugin for css cache or use feature build in template ?

Yes, I am...are you?

Anyway,
how do you get rid of captions on top of images? example on your sample is "CATCH A FREE RIDE"...
Thank you & God bless

It seems to use the item/article title in the overlay caption, but I can't find a way to disable it...tried hiding the title, etc...but to no avail...any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again

Another thing to try is to defer javascript execution.

I don't think it helps as javascript is executed from client side while loading speed of a site depends mostly on execution speed from server side, so we should make optimization from this side rather than from client side to have a better loading speed. Also, I think that deferring javascript execution would require much customization.
