Product Pages Inheriting Category Modules

Hello,

I have several modules on my category pages, such as "shop by category." However, my product pages are inheriting these modules as well. How can I remove them from the product pages? I only want these modules to appear on my category pages.

Unfortunately You cannot do much with just configuration. Joomla just works this way. I'm overloading this problem with using a css in item view php code to cover the side columns, but it's not the best solution I know.
