Need help with Quickstart installation

I just purchased a membership, and for the past couple days have been trying to install the boutique Quickstart so that my site will have the boutique settings and content as seen on the demo, but I haven't been able to get it to work.

I followed the instructions given regarding installation, but eventually realized that it doesn't work because those instructions are for an initial Joomla installation.

I already had Joomla installed prior to purchasing the membership. The template that I was using was the default template that comes with my host's Joomla installation (they used SimpleScripts to install Joomla). But I have entered any content.

What instructions do I need to follow in order to do the Quickstart installation and get the boutique demo look (content and layout) when I already have Joomla installed?

I have also already added the boutique Quickstart files to my file manager.

If you could assist me with this, I would greatly appreciate it! I can modfiy the site once I have the template content up. I just need to figure out how to get the content/layout of boutique that is displayed in the demo.

Thank you for your response. The instructions at the link you provided are was what I initially followed. However, it doesn't explain what to do if you already a database created, and have already installed Joomla.
My host does not use cPanel, and the interface, layout, and Joomla installation are completely different than what is shown on the instructions...it also automatically creates a database.

I have already extracted the template's quickstart files in my file manager (the step under the "Export Files by FTP" section on the page you sent me). I also created a new database, but this only caused problems because a database had already been created when I first installed Joomla using from my webhost control panel.

Also, in the article you sent me, under the section titled "Files Installation," it says: "Open your browser at the address/directory where you will perform the installation." What is meant by the "address/directory?" I did not know to do in this step.

Are there special instructions that I can follow to install the Quickstart with my situation, in which I've already installed Joomla?

(The steps for Language, Pre-installation Check, License, Database Configuration, FTP Configuration, etc are all automatically completed with SimpleScripts installation provided through my web host.)

In your case I advise install template and all extensions needed. To achieve same look as demo you will need install somewhere quickstart to compare settings and add them to your exisiting joomla installation.

I finally made some progress with quickstart installation I'm now able to get the page with the quickstart installation. But am now having an issue at the database configuration step. When I enter all the correct information, it just stays on that page and does not advance to the next step.

Could you give me advice for what I can do to get past the issue?

I got your message. First please contact with your hosting company and ask them to switch off things which are on red during installation.

I changed the Database Configuration settings to the correct settings, but the installation is still getting hung up at this step.

Do you know what other causes for this may be?

Please try install quickstart from diffrent template to check if it is this quickstart issue or some problem with server.

I did an installation with the eSport template, and I had NO problems. The installation when quickly and smoothly.

So then I tried doing the boutique installation again from the very beginning (re-downloaded the boutique quickstart package from the gavickpro site, created a completely new database, etc), and it gave me the same issue. It still does not proceed beyond step 4 (database configuration). I know that I am entering the correct database info.

The whole process worked fine eSport.

Also, I've tried using different browsers - Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9, and Safari (for PC) and they all have given me the same issue.

Could there be something wrong with the boutique quickstart package itself?

By the way. I have pointed the site back to the eSport installation (it's completed) for the time being. The template site is up and running.

Please let me know if I should point my domain back to the boutique installation.

I have the same exact problem but with the GK Appphone quickstart. It will not advance any farther even though the database configurations are correct. No errors. I donwloaded the Esport quickstart, installed on the same server and it worked perfectly. How do I get an answer on this ? If it takes several days to get an answer via the forum, I am not sure this is worth it.

I have the same problem too. During the installation process of Boutique Quickstart, it stucks on step 4 (Database Configuration) and it does not go on.
I downloaded it today and I'm trying to install it in local. I'm using Wamp.
