Hi

There is no module position called menu1 or menu2 on the template. This positions are for submenus where You can define what module position to choose in menu item extended settings.

Please take a closer look to the instruction I gave You this will explaing how to make menu which will cover couple of languages at the same time.

Hi

Why problems ? :)

This is really simple. As our template allowes to use only one menu than menu items are using different languages and are visible in selected lang version. Other joomla template clubs are using the same solution.

I know this is old but it's totally related. I think it is very complicated as I've spent a few days scratching my head with this menu issue.

I have a website using the News II template and that one is great, but I recently downloaded the Music Free template and everything worked fine till I tried to multilanguage the site.

The main menu is hardcoded so there's a no way to add new language menus to the same position. It can be turned off, and I can hardcode a module there, but what's the point? In any case, that menu does not accept a multilanguage option (does not change when languages are switched) and the way is setup makes it fine only if there will be one language in use.

Now, don't take me wrong, that harcoded menu is nice. It slides, etc. But it would be useful for multilanguage sites if it could somehow switch from English to SPanish or any other language. Right now it does not. In fact, if the menu in my News II website changed to this model it will cause all kinds of havoc in my site (and everyone's using the same template in their sites).

I wrote this because you wrote that "As our template allowes to use only one menu than menu items are using different languages and are visible in selected lang version". Not really sure what that means, but am I missing something about this menu? Is there an option to use it with the multilanguage joomla tool? Thanks in advance for any support on this?

Hi

This static menu still can be used for a multilangual. Also as described and adviced on joomla.org website, You can see a shorter version here: http://www.gavick.com/documentation/que ... oomla-1-7/

BUT

I know this above is complicated, so the second and easier option is Falang component which can translate the menu and You will not need to have dozens of different menus to handle it.

Hey man, I made this work. Thanks for the link. The problem was that the instructions for Joomla require to have every menu item under each home lanaguge menu. For this new menu all items (for whatever language) are under the main menu for all languages. In reality, it was very simple, I just didn't read through both manuals. Thanks for pointing me out in the right direction.

The only issue I have now is that, because the HOME item in the menu is the ALL languages main item, the name for that item remains in just one language. My website, for example, is in English and Spanish. I can change languages through the languge switcher correctly, but the HOME menu remains HOME instead of, for example, PRINCIPAL or PORTADA (or any word meaning HOME in Spanish).

So far I haven't found an option to change this. Do you know of any workaround this issue? Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your support and patience.

Hi

Sorry, but I've been strugling with the same problem as You using this method. I have replaced Home text with a home image :). But it was before I've discover Falang component. Please simply install it and translate this Home word using it.

Installed Free Falang. It fixed it. Thanks. This looks like an awesome extension. Do you know if the are actively developing before I buy?

Hi

I do not know about paid version. All I needed it for was to translate articles and menu items, so free version was enough :)
