Upgrading from 2.0.6 to 2.0.8 of Vituemart devastated the template Boutique completely.

All the upper part of the template simply disappered...

I wonder why this template has to have so much trouble...

Please let me know how to upgrade VM 2.0.6 (wich is also very very buggy too) without compromising my template and site.

Luckly I have a backup copy...

Thanks

Hi,

i just did an upgrade of my virtuemart from 2.0.6 to 2.0.8 without any problems...
First, i would try to figure out what is responsible for your error
Go to templates/gk_boutique/html and rename com_virtuemart to _com_virtuemart
This disables the gavick style for vm2. Then it uses the default vm view.
Reload your page and have a look at it

Btw, did you read this:
http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option= ... ent&id=416

Thank you very much for your answer. :D

I'll try to rename com_virtuemart to _com_virtuemart in templates/gk_boutique/html after the upgrade... but I have first to make a backup... so it will take sometime to finish the task...

The only things I changed in the template are some css overrides...

As for the link, what does it exactly mean? That I could make the upgrade even manually file by file?

No, this means that there are some changes in the vm2 api.
If you use our own (gavick) stlye for virtuemart, you have to do these changes. Otherwise, there could be problems with your shop
By renaming com_virtuemart, you make a fallback to the original vm2 files. So you wouldn't need to change anything. But you have "just" the standard shop design.
If you undo renaming, vm2 will again use gavick style

btw, i have always a development version, where i can test changes, without destroying my shop.
Also, i have learnded that early adopters of new versions get a lot of bugs :-(
