Post installation Question: public_html directory

Hello, I just installed the quickstart package, and I'm able to view the demo & everything. However, since I extracted it into ./public_html folder as directed, now I can only see the demo on xxxxx.com/public_html instead of just showing up at xxxx.com.

Should I just move all contents in public_html folder into the main directory?

I'm also not seeing the "offline" message, even after going to Global config and selecting yes for offline.

1) yes, but it depends of your hosting settings
2) you should check yours path in configuration.php - it could be wrong
