Deleting Quickstart-installed posts breaks template

Hi

I have installed News Quickstart package and it's running OK. I have imported about 600 posts, 40 categories and 1200 images from another site and can format and view these OK with the plugins. However when I then delete the pre-installed posts, tags or categories, it breaks the template. I am left with just the top menu, the slideshow bar and a blank page below. This has now happened twice.
The error log shows:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Post as array in .../wp-content/themes/News/gavern/widgets.slideshow.php on line 143.

From the error you have posted I just guess, that widget SlideShowPro is configured in the way it prevents it from running correctly. Perhaps it points into a category or any other data source that doesn't exist after you have removed quickstart posts?
Can you access wp-admin and change configuration of the widget?

Thanks for quick reply. Editing the slideshow widget data source to a valid category fixed the problem. Page display all restored.
