Hi,

I have been working on the website for quite a while and wanted to check it online, I saw that I still needed to login, but it needs to be accessible for everyone. So I unpublished the login module, but this did not work. I checked access view every item is on public. I deleted the login URL in the template manager.

The login screen is gone, but when on the homepage the menu items don't work properly. It doesn't redirect to the content or it does it wrong. The funny thing is that it works fine (online or offline) when you use the login. After logon it works fine, without it it doesn't. I tried to solve it myself, but I am stuck, hopefully you can help. Thank you in advance.

Could you check whether the same happen if you disable SEF URL's and mod_rewrite in global Joomla configuration? Please also disable cache if you use this feature.

Hi Bkrztuk,

I changed sef and cache and then it works! Thank you!!! I could not find mod_rewrite do I have to change that still? If I have to could you tell me where the htaccess file is? And if I don't have to, could you tell me why it works now, what the system did wrong? Thanks again.

Hi BKrtuk,

I still have some strange problems in reliability.. It looks fine on first glimpse, but sometimes there are some unexplained glitches. For example when I go to the website on the phone mostly it looks fine, but sometimes you get a can't define browser message. I looked for a solution for that and the code I have to alter is exactly the same as it is already. The funny thing is it doesn't give this error all the time. Sometimes when going to the website you get the login screen again although this is not published or activated. So why? And on chrome sometimes the slider doesn't show, you only see the embed code, where it is shown on other browsers and phone. Can this all be related to the path/redirection problem, like there are two paths conflicting on the same time? I can solve logic problems, but this I just don't get? It is really strange. Hopefully you can shine some light on this, or are willing to have a look at the site to see if there is a conflict somewhere. I never had such a thing before. or should I still look for mod_rewrite?

Are you sure that cache in global configuration and cache plugins are disabled? It may be also your browser cache issue.
