Installed the quickstart template (multilanguage). Surprised not to see the BG image as on the demo. Checked the documentation for the template (from the quickstart navigated to Template->Frontpage elements). Checked that by default the suffix mentioned there is configured in the template. However, comparing to this document (https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... omla-pages) the 'imageBg' class is never added to the body of the mainpage.

My page is:
http://orientacjanarakownie.pl/
gramol/orient

Can you tell me what am I doing wrong, or what document should I follow?

Hi

If can see You are missing "imageBg" page class suffix and some more content placed in "header" module position. Background is only visible under header and suffix is necessary to show it.

Here an example how to use page class suffix with our templates: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... omla-pages

Did you even read my post? You are citing the document that I was referring to!

I know I'm missing the suffix. Can you read my original post and respond to my actual question/problem not behaving like a robot answering based on a bunch of keywords?

Is there any quality meter here for the time of waiting for response? On the other thread it was said usually <24h. Sometimes 1-2 days. I'm waiting a lot longer now here!

Hi

I still think it's about the missing page class suffix and You should look at the article provided more carefully, but please send me an access to joomla panel, so I'll check why this cannot work. Maybe there is a problem with page class suffix function after all.

As I've said it's plain vanilla installed template. I'm not sure I want to provide login details here (publicly) to my site. You could just install the template as downloaded from your website and check for yourself that it isn't working.

Hi

I meant to use Private Message to send me access, but I did as You suggested and installed it on my computer. Had no problem to include page class suffix, but now I can see that the background is only visible under header module position, so I'm guessing You are lacking a module in this position and background is not visible because of that..

Now we have some progress. Can you send me some instructions on how to do that, ie. include a module in this position?

There is in the standard vanilla install a module called 'Header' with position 'header' and it's active. Can I ask you to simply fix the problem on your machine and instruct me here on how you fixed it instead of replying with 'supposing' or 'maybe you could try'.

HI

Yes we do, just please stop bumping Your own thread. Each time You add something to it tame of last activity is changing and question goes to the end of the line.

I just added a module into "header" module position for frontpage in my installation, than added a page class suffix "imageBg" to the same page and it worked.

Here an instruction how to deal with page class suffixes in our templates: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... omla-pages

I already asked what how do you want me to respond. I don't know how should I do it so that you can respond in a timely manner. I simply click 'Respond with quote' button now. Can you tell me what exactly should I be doing?

I know that instruction already. The problem is that I don't understand what you mean by: '.. for frontpage in my installation ...'. Is there a description anywhere on what is a 'frontpage' and how to add a module to it?

I managed to set imageBg for a different article - not a homepage. So this is partly a success.

However, what I'm struggling with right now is to where is the setting of what is shown on the homepage. Currently I think it shows featured articles. There is a menu item called 'Home' with a 'star' next to it, but I don't know why it does not get displayed on the main page.

Hi

Frontpage is a page set as a default (with a star). It's a very specific page and when a module is published in module position "mainbody" for this page it can replace component, so if You have such a module than whatever this page will be configured to show (like featured articles, category layout, etc) will not show.

To add page class usffix to such page go to menu manager and check what ID this menu item has (it will be in last column). Than go to template settings and in Features section add a page class suffix "imageBg" and the ID You've just checked.

Hi

Now should be ok. "imageBg" was added to default page, but since page is multilanguage it was replaced with a default page for Polish and English depending of selection.

Code: Select all
120=imageBg
374=imageBg
375=imageBg

I've also enabled a module used in header module position so You will be able to see changes this brought to this page.
