Inserting Current Date into a Page (PHP)

I have tried for over 2 hours attempting to have a current date (PHP) placed in 1 page and cannot get it to work. I have tried many of the Insert PHP plug-ins in Wordpress but nothing is working. Please advise.

Could you please provide me with a URL to your website and back-end access via PM (click the “Private Message” text underneath my avatar) so that I may analyze it? It is a lot easier for us to diagnose issues when we have a live site to examine.
