Question about SEF URL

Product and category url always include shop in it, is there anyway to remove shop?

for example:

Category:
from:
http://www.mydomain.com/shop/women-s-scarf

to
http://www.mydomain.com/women-s-scarf

Product:
http://www.mydomain.com/shop/women-s-sc ... rf9-detail

to:
http://www.mydomain.com/women-s-scarf/scarf9-detail

In theory this is depends of Menu items connections.

If in menu you have

Shop -> women-s-scarf
if SEF / URL you will have exactly this same.

So if you will reduces subitems you will get want to asked for

p.s.
Second option, use SEF component which allows you to control all links in your website like sh404sef, etc.
Sometimes it's the best choice even when you have to spend some money for it.

In official VM sample site, all categories are

http://www.domain.com/category-name

and all products are

http://www.domain.com/category-name/product-name.

First, you have to enable full SEF in Joomla settings (Global configuration).

Second, please delete all demo content / menu / categories etc. and add your own REAL content, don't use demo - so it will help you control / manage of all.
This is most common mistake.

Yes, I do setup a website and enable all SEF and remove all demo data, but the SEF is wired, please see our site:

one category "Andriod TV BOX" has no "products" in category and product url,

however category "Android TV Dongle" has "products" in url for both category and product

p.s.
By the way, You aways will have "shop" in URL, because your installation is inside this folder name (!) Don't forgot about it. About products I will check and insert tips in guide.
