Only works on content menu pages

I have tried to set this up on my site, it works on the menu items that are content related, so any article/content menu pages like news etc.

If I have another plugin page, no news headlines show up in the box

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Yes it is published to work on these pages.

Here is a sample of where I have it

If you look it works on the front page. but if you go to features >> Forums or Features >> Photo Gallery it does not work on these pages.

The forum is wrapped using jfusion and gallery uses image browser.

I think the issue is either with the inclusion of the gavick mootools script or the javascript inclusion when not on a com_content page
