Store Page

I don't quite understand how the store page works. It appears to be a blank page so I know it is set up elsewhere. Is it possible for me to make that page a list of categories (or visuals that link to categories) so that the customer can select from T-shirts, Hats, Gear, etc.?

I don't really want products to come up on that front store page.

By default this page shows products, you can change it in Woocommerce -> Settings -> Catalog options tab. (you can show only products subcategories).
