Hello,

I've installed the Rockwall template. In the GK5 modules in homepage I set to show some specific K2 articles (I only replaced the item number in already existing bottom1 position GK5 modules).

I unpublished all the previous K2 category; all the article that are supposed to be linked from the GK5 homepage module belongs to other categories.

Well, I discovered that if the K2 item that should be opened by clicking on that GK5 module has not a corresponding menu item, I get the 1064 error.

The strange thing is that the error page URL has in it the previous K2 category (featured-band-events) showing in .

At the moment I solved by putting the K2 article also in the menu item but...

Is that a normal joomla behaviour? I did never encountered such a issue.

The other odd thing is that if I republish the "featured band events" category I get no error regardless if I have the K2 menu item, and the k2 URL still has "featured-band-events" in it... but the article belongs to another category!!!

Thanks for your answer...

Please try to unpublish all News Show Pro modules. Probably module which is displayed on this page gives 1064 error because you change some K2 categories but don't modify module configuration and NSP is looking for non-existing content.

Hello,

thanks for your answer,

I unplushed all GK5 modules not involved in my homepage, and yes now I don't get the error anymore, but....

The URL of the page coming from my homepage GK5 module (the one I got the error earlier) contains a category name (featured-band-events) that is not even published; that's the link:

http://www.************.it/k2/k2-categories/featured-band-events/item/260-scarica-la-app-per-smartphone-tablet

The #260 K2 item belongs to a category called "informazioni" (its alias is "informazioni" as well); it's assigned to its proper language as the #260 k2 item is.

I'd rather avoiding having a different category name in the link, since I would like my site were properly indexed by google & co.

You said I did not change the module configuration... but what other config should I change other than the K2 item number? I only used the already existing "Bottom NPS IV module" by changing its name and k2 item number...

Thanks for you help,

You may just rename category or remove some K2 items and NSP is set to display this items for example by ID and this produce error. Please just try to set NSP data source to some existing category (not empty) and re-save module configuration. This should resolve your problem.

Hello,

sorry to bother you, but maybe I did not explain well.

The GK5 module does point to an existing/not empty K2 category/item, but in the URL I still get the "featured-band-events" even if this category "featured-band-events" IS NOT published

I also tried to:

1) create from the scratch a new GK5 module (same position, same K2 item, same configuration)

2) duplicate a working GK5 module and replacing the K2 item number in it

In any case I still get the bloody "featured-band-events" in the URL

The only way to get rid of the bloody "featured-band-events" in the URL, is to have the corresponding module item also in the menu.

Is that normal?

I could give you access to my admin and show wich module behaves this odd way, so you could check yourself.

Thanks

Content published in NSP should be linked to some menu item and then the URL will be build based on menu alias. Are you sure that none of your menu don't have this alias? It can't be just generated by NSP - it is get from Joomla core links settings.

Ok ok... I think I solved. That's what maybe happened:

After I installed the template I created two new menus for both site languages, leaving the original main menu (but containing all the original menu items still published), that I supposed did not belong to any active menu, since I duplicated the template to assign italian menu to the original template and the english menu to the duplicated one.

So now I unpublished all the original menu items (that I don't use in any active menu), and now the URL coming from the module does not contain anymore the bloody category :-)

Now it seems that even module items not contained in the menu don't give any error...

Sorry, but I did not figure out that such a thing could ever happen...

Thanks for your assistance...

Probably rebuilding menu structure will also fix this issue but please note that Joomla build URL based on even not published menu.
