I purchased the RockWall Theme because it was compatible with WPML plug-in:
http://wpml.org/theme/rockwall/
https://www.gavick.com/wordpress-themes ... lugin.html

The website is running in Spanish and I´d like to translate it to english and italian. I have installed and traduced all pages and posts without any problem.

However I don´t know how to translate the home. I wanted the home to show the slider and some selected highlighted posts (I don´t want just last posts). To achieve that I use the GK Title overlay configured to show determinated category-slugs asigned to each space (any other idea to solve this is wellcome).

The problem is that in the English and Italian homepage it shows the Spanish highlights. I´ve tried to translate the categories in English, but then it appears English higlights in Spanish homepage. I don´t know if the GK Title overlay is able to admit several slugs and show them in their respective language.

How can I solve it? Is really RockWall theme compatible with WPML? Is there any manual?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, RockWall theme is compatible with WPML, but the homepage is based on widgets and WPML it's not so good with widget's translation, please check my last post from this thread:

https://www.gavick.com/forums/storebox- ... ic#p130798

You have to use Widget Logic plugin and assign widgets (with proper content) to wpml code - "ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == 'en'"

So, if you have 3 languagues and one widget on homepage, you should add additionall 2 widgets, choose translated content (translated post slug or categories) and assign it with proper Language Code using Widget Logic plugin, then widget logic show widget assigned only to proper language.

Hi Piotr,

Thank you for your help. I have solved the problem using the mentioned plug-in.

However, I think you should inform user about this situation before buying.

Thank you again

Hi,

You're right, but every theme has this problem with WPML and widgets, BTW we are going to implement some improvements to our widgets connected with WPML.

Hi Piotr,

I have also installed the WPML-plugin & Widget Logic plugin with the wordpress theme BikeStore.

When I use the GK News Show Pro the feed takes the latest posts.
These posts are translated in 3 languages, Dutch, French and English but that makes no difference as GK News Pro shows all the versions when browsing through the french, dutch and english version of the website.

Then I allocated the string below ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == 'en' to display the plugin on the English version, but it still loads all languages versions of the post.

Any help would be great!

Greetings

Hi,

I think you should use another option than Latest post from GK News Show Pro, so you created 3 GK NSP widgets, right? and added string ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE with proper lanugage code to each widget. So in first widget choose english default category as a data source, in the second choose French (translated categories) etc.

Hi @maffs,

Which widget exactly do you want to translate?

Hi,
I believe I figured it out with Widget Logic.
I was looking at my homepage whereby I needed to show the content in 'english' and with a click of a button 'welsh'. Therefore i used two identical widgets in the same location and in the widget logic box (within the widget) i placed the specific code to the language ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == 'en' or ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == 'cy' that i needed to display. Bingo. I now need to get my head around the 'Latest News' feed and Contact Form.

Hi,

I think it's not possible with deafult wp "latest posts" widget, but you can use GK News Show Pro (two identical widgets) in first you can select your english category, in the second - your second language category and do the same with language ICL code. Which Contact Form are you using?

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have any recommendation, you have to test some plugins or ask on WPML forum.
