Please edit file:
/language/en-GB/en-GB.mod_news_pro_gk5.ini

and find keys:
MOD_NEWS_PRO_GK5_PORTAL_MODE_PORTFOLIO_LINK_TEXT1="More work"
MOD_NEWS_PRO_GK5_PORTAL_MODE_PORTFOLIO_LINK_TEXT2="See more"

Ok, what was the problem in first place - your ftp program didn't replaced original file, or were you editing wrong file?

I was wrong, editing the wrong file! I have to say, it so easy....
it takes some time http://www.actidesign.com/2014-1/ (i am working on it!)
