Hello. I have a 3rd party login mod which i'm trying to place on the spot to replace the [LOGIN] button on the top right. I have tried various settings and the mod keeps failing to display there.

According to the module position page, the top line is logo, mainmenu, userarea.

Those 3 positions do not even appear on the list when trying to place the module.

I assumed "userarea" would be where the login should be placed so I just typed userarea and pressed enter. I guess that did not work :S

Please someone point me in the right direction. Much appreciated!

Those positions are reserved for template settings.
If You would like to be able to place there your own modules, then You need to add aditional position and place it inside of:
Code: Select all
<div id="gkUserArea">

element in templates/gk_creativity/layouts/default.php

Here You will find complete guide how to add custom module position:

Hello,

I'm not a web developer and sorry but I don't understand anything in your document.
Following your instruction I have:
Code: Select all
<div id="gkUserArea">
                        <?php if($this->API->modules('login')) : ?>
                        <a href="<?php echo $this->API->get('login_url', 'index.php?option=com_users&view=login'); ?>" id="gkLogin" class="button border"><?php echo ($userID == 0) ? JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_LOGIN') : JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_LOGOUT'); ?></a>
                        <?php endif; ?>
                </div>

So how can I replace login with my own login module or any other modules?

Thanks,
Giang Anh

If You don't know at least basics of html/css/php programming, You should thing about finding a freelancer who will do those changes for You.
Sometimes changes are easy and can be guided 1:1 (as You have found out before), but sometimes it requires some programming skills to place code in correct place.
