Hi there,

I tried installing Creativity template on my website (would prefer to give URL privately) but installation won't start :( I just get a white screen when I try to run the quick start installation. Hope you can help because I would really like to install this beautiful template

Cheers,
Ronald

I have just downloaded quickstart and verified it works fine. Also - quickstart is nothing less and nothing more than normal Joomla installation package with some addictions to folders and default database which on first step is not used.
I guess it is some server side incompatibility.

hi,
thanks for looking
I have installed a couple of (quick start) templates, from different suppliers, on the same domain already - never had any problems. Could there be a specific setting/requirement in the package that disables the Gavick template? Just so I know what to ask the host.

Cheers,
Ronald

Please check server errors - they should show what's wrong exactly.

Hi Cyberek,
I have checked with the host and this was the response I got:
""I could see that as you have mentioned, the domain is loading a blank page instead of the installation page. I have checked the server logs, But could not find any error related to this. Hence, this could not be a server related issue. I am enclosing here with the server details. Please refer the same and ensure that this is what is required for your installation :
---
PHP version :

php -v
PHP 5.4.16 (cli) (built: Jun 24 2013 12:02:20)

MySQL version :

mysql -V
/usr/local/afribin/mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.73, for pc-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 5.1
---

As we are not into development, we wont be able to assist you any further. Please contact a developer and seek advise in this regard. Also our support to third party softwares are also limited.

Please check the details with the developer and let us know if you need to change any server related parameter to assist the installation. Note that your domain is hosted in a Linux server. The developer will be able to assist you in this regard."

Do they need to change a parameter?

Cheers,
Ronald

Sorry but still can't connect.

Please make one small test - download latest Joomla package an place it there instead of Gavick Quickstart and check if it installs correctly (first step).

Hi there,

What would you need to connect? I have tried the Joomla install which works fine. I have also previously installed other Joomla templates, without problems.

Cheers,
Ronald

Hi there,

The problem seems bigger than I thought... I didn't want to wait and installed the John template instead... Same problem. Seems my host somehow has a problem with all Gavick templates, have installed quite a few others without problems. Hope you can help me find the issue so I can install...

Cheers,
Ronald

Currently the only idea I have is to install quickstart on localhost (mamp, xamp, whatever), develop there and then after all copy files and database to your hosting company.
