I am trying to enable this template. Install was succesful. I set it to default. I assigned excisting modules and menu's to it, but it won't work. Page is not loading.

Setting it back to excisting other template, everything works again. So it must be a basic setting I missed.
I followed the standaard 'joomla change template' steps, but with no result.

What do I do wrong?

I found the solution: GZIP compression was enabled on my local test environment. Disabling it did the trick, however, I do have an error message.

Deprecated: preg_replace(): The /e modifier is deprecated, use preg_replace_callback instead in C:\xampp\htdocs\simplicitaz\libraries\joomla\filter\input.php on line 652

Deprecated: preg_replace(): The /e modifier is deprecated, use preg_replace_callback instead in C:\xampp\htdocs\simplicitaz\libraries\joomla\filter\input.php on line 654

The same error which is preventing to install the quickstart demo. (see other topic)

I did some research. Problem is caused by a conflict between joomla and xampp 1.8.3.
Downgrading to 1.8.2. solved the problem.
